Princeton, NJ, July 02, 2012 — NIKSUN® Inc., the world leader in real time and forensics-based cybersecurity and network monitoring solutions, plans to host the 5th WWSMC (World Wide Security & Mobility Conference) on July 9-11, 2012 in Princeton, NJ. The WWSMC Summer ‘12 conference will feature topics on cyber warfare, cyber defense, cloud, and mobile security. WWSMC will have many notable speakers including Dr. Parag Pruthi, NIKSUN Founder, Chairman, and CEO, and W. Ralph Basham, Former U.S. Commissioner of U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Director of the United States Secret Service (USSS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Senior Executive Presidential appointee in the Clinton, George W. Bush and Obama administrations as keynote speakers as well as other distinguished speakers from business and academia.

NIKSUN began hosting the World Wide Security & Mobility Conferences (WWSMC) in January of 2011 in Princeton, NJ in order to foster innovation and problem solving for the heightened cybersecurity threats that face many nations today. The success of the first WWSMC quickly spread to Denmark and India, with India hosting over 400 attendees. “Cyber threats and espionage are costing governments and organizations millions, and cyber terrorism is a very real enemy that we cannot ignore,” said Dr. Parag Pruthi, NIKSUN Founder, Chairman, and CEO. “At WWSMC we bring together not only practitioners who find themselves in the midst of a cyber war, but also researchers who are actively working on bringing novel ideas to practice. Everyone who has come to WWSMC has gained significant knowledge and developed a network of very strong relationships.”

Dr. Pruthi speaks internationally on cyber terrorism, and is recognized as one of the foremost experts in advanced cybersecurity technologies. Dr. Pruthi is a trusted advisor on cyber defense strategies for various governments and enterprises around the world, and is often invited to keynote at various NATO nations, defense agencies, and strategic commands. At the WWSMC Summer ‘12, Dr. Pruthi’s keynote speech will outline the state-of-the-art for cybersecurity.

W. Ralph Basham, with Command Consulting Group, is the former U.S. Commissioner of U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Director of the United States Secret Service (USSS), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Senior Executive Presidential appointee in the Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama administrations. Mr. W. Ralph Basham, who will give his keynote address on Monday July 9th, has one of the most distinguished and diverse backgrounds in law enforcement and homeland security in the world today. Over the course of his 38 year career in federal law enforcement, he has served in senior leadership positions at four of the eight operational components in what is now the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Dr. Pruthi worked with W. Ralph Basham’s team on the investigation by the US Secret Service in Operation Firewall in 2004-2005. The operation brought 30+ criminals from 8+ countries to justice for identity theft in which over 1.7 million credit card numbers and identities of individuals were stolen by the Shadowcrew underground criminal organization. In the US and many other countries, NIKSUN’s technology has been used several times to bring cyber criminals to justice.

The WWSMC Summer ’12 will feature a live offense and cyberdefense session (attack and defend ) and a special talk featuring complete analysis of Flame and Stuxnet cyberweapons will also be presented. Various other speakers from around the world will discuss topics such as Big Data in Security and Mobility, Next Generation Mobile Security, Mobile Cloud Challenges and Solutions, and Security in LTE networks. The WWSMC series of conferences come at a time when the type and amount of data has severely increased, a phenomenon that has significant implications in network security. "In 2011, enterprises began to truly embrace enterprise mobility, and mobile security and management must serve as the foundation of these deployments," says Stacy Crook, senior analyst, Mobile Enterprise research at IDC. "While consumerization can play an instrumental role in broadening the ROI of mobility, it also increases concerns around privacy, liability, and data loss." The WWSMC Summer ’12 will focus a full day on mobile security, in answer to this heightened demand.

The WWSMC series of conferences are jointly hosted by the IEEE as well as select universities, factors that contribute not only to the high caliber of speakers, but also of the attendees. “The WWSMC is by far one of the most important events that we attend,” said IEEE MGA VP Dr. Howard Michel. “The conference is engaging and practical, providing solid, useful information that we can put to use immediately.”
